Oh Boy! How can a person with only 2 teeth, who drools, and who prefers to run around naked be so adorable?!?! This family has a special place in my heart and it was my pleasure to be able to capture him at this most-wonderful age!

He has the BEST squishy feet that he rests on top of one another. The chubbiest little legs, and the sweetest smile. And his mom & sister aren't bad, either!

Enjoy! But fair warning that these images might give you the "i want a baby" urge!

Love's Baby Soft

Women my age (30"ish") might remember Love's Baby Soft perfume from when they were little. I loved that perfume! I wore it all of the time. In fact, I've purchased it as an adult, too. It is so pure and soft and yummy smelling.

This image makes me think of that perfume. The soft pink, the yummy baby, the pureness of being so small and determined!

The next time you are at a drugstore, take a walk by the perfume and spray a bit of Love's. It might take you back in time!

Incensed!!

For all of you parents who get stressed and anxious about pictures - RELAX! This happens. It's OK!

I don't mind, I even think it is kind of funny. We want cute little hats but baby has other plans. This is the same little girl as in a previous post. See - she's not crying!

It's all good. Photos should NOT be stressful. What's the worst that can happen? We have a "do-over". And remember, if your little one is just not happy and we don't get the real smiles that you want, we will do the session again. No charge.

Baby-licious

I had the pleasure of photographing this adorable little boy last week. His eyes are beautiful. His baby-chub is yummy. He is the apple of his parents' eyes!

His mom is a former kindergarten teacher, so they have LOTS of wonderful books. I've spent so many days and evenings snuggling with my kids reading to them. It's one of my favorite things to do - cuddling them, smelling them, feeling their soft hands. Such a simple pleasure. But then, the best things in life are simple. And sweet. And a picture can trigger those sights, smells, and feelings many years down the road.

Excited. Grateful. Happy.

My exciting news to share is that I've opened a natural light studio! It is WONDERFUL!! The studio space is geared for newborns (and their parents), so it is warm, cozy, light, and comfortable. I have a passion for newborns and I realized that I needed a place where all of my things are, where moms can relax, where babies can be warm and cozy, where the light is soft and sweet. And through luck and a wonderful realtor, I found it!!

For those of you in Rochester, I am at the historic Broadstreet Building. I am on the 2nd floor, above 300 First and the Redwood Room. The studio has wood floors, tall ceilings, exposed brick and natural light! Even with the dark dreary days of last week, I was able to hold two sessions with no problem!

I am so thankful to everyone who helped get the studio in shape. Especially my husband who spent many nights painting and hauling furniture. And Sonia and Matt. And Steve. And Kari. Aunt Lizzie. And Katie & Irv for sharing their daughter with me for the first session at the studio. And Allison for finding me my first set of twins. And Tanya, the twins mom! It's been a whirlwind week, but now I can breathe a sigh of relief and focus on putting the space to good use!

I will also use the space for babies if clients would prefer the studio rather than their homes. For older children and families, however, I will still be on location....because I truly love to be outdoors and in homes and I believe that I can capture the purest moments in those settings.

Yummy Baby

Here's what I am working on this rainy afternoon in Rochester MN. Babies like this brighten my day, especially when the sun isn't shining and the cold rain is falling!! Lots of sweet, chubby, a-DOR-able little baby J!

Life

One of the reasons that I love photographing in homes is that I can capture the little things that happen on a day to day basis. Mom and Dad working, baby in the "office", dogs hanging around wanting some love.

This is slice of their life as a young, busy, working family.

And just a few to share of mommy and baby. Simple, quiet moments together.

6 Months and Lots of Love

This little guy is now 6 months old and quite the character. Such a cutie pie. It's clear that he brings lots of joy to his parents world.

Here are a few more images to share from a session I did last week. We met at a Nature Center a few hours before sunset. The light and the setting were just beautiful. I photographed the baby when he was just a few weeks old, so it was fun to see him as a little guy! They change so fast those first few years.

This little baby boy is such a cutie - with his perfect baby rolls and sweet cheeks! The handmade basket we used in the 1st few shots are from his parent's wedding (I love props that have meaning!). It took some time to get him to fall asleep, but once we did, we were able to get some sweet pictures. And - isn't his mamma beautiful!?! It's always nice to be able to give parents pictures of themselves WITH their children.
